Steven Holstrom Dr. of Veterinary Dentistry

Steve Holmstrom is a past member of the Rotary Club of San Pedro. Steve had been a member of Rotary Clubs for over 35 years. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri in 1972. He performed his first advanced dental procedure, a root canal in 1972 and became board certified in 1989. He has written two textbooks in veterinary dentistry and has been the guest editor for 3 editions of the Veterinary Clinics of North
America. His first text, Veterinary Dental Techniques has been published in 4 languages (English, Spanish, Italian and Japanese). He has worked on many types of wild and exotic animals – walrus, elephant seals, sea lions, lions, tigers, chimps and sharks are just a few of the species. His presentation will cover these treatments in more detail. The title is “Lions, Tigers and Bears, Oh My!” as all the work is done pro bono. His Rotary Classification was Veterinary Dentist and
retired, at this point only doing volunteer work on captive wildlife.
