Jeami Duncan was our guest speaker this week. She talked about Mercy's Village, the school in Uganda they Jeami founded and the publicity about the Kony2012 viral video that is sweeping the internet. Mercy's village is well over 100 students now and Jeami is looking to increase the size of the school to accommodate the additional children. Jeami also has started a student sponsorship program; for 35 a month you can help provide school uniforms, daily meal during the school week and clean drinking water. Quality education at Mercy's Village Primary School and all related school materials; plus many other benefits. You will receive information about your child along with the potential of meeting him/her when our club takes a trip to Uganda later this year. If you are interested in sponsoring a child please contact Jeami at 310-341-3088 Congratulations to Jeami for all of our work with Mercy's Village Primary School. Jeami and Mercy's village will be featured in an upcoming issue of the Rotarian Magazine later this year.

Mad March is approaching quickly, to that end we are meeting Saturday morning at St. Michaels to distribute packets to El Segundo Residents; if you can't attend the weekly meetings this is a good chance to give back to the club and help with this important distribution. Thanks to Shirley Hoffman, Jack Weber, and Ed Lynch for all of their hard work on this project.

Rotary Cares Day is March 31, we still need volunteers with this community service project. We will be helping 3 local senior residents with minor home repair and gardening. Once again, this is a good opportunity to help the club raise local awareness of what we do. Please volunteer your time if at all possible.

On Saturday March 24th Cooper Stolnack of the ESLL Mets will be playing baseball at Brett Field, located in the heart of Rec Park. El Segundo Rotary Club sponsors Coopers team; it would be great if we could get some Rotarians to come out and cheer on Cooper and the Mets. We are accepting donations for goody bags for Cooper and his team; please bring your donations to next weeks meeting.

Linda Cohen visited again today from El Segundo Band; she says she is still interested in join our club so if you see her around town give her a little encouragement.

Thanks to Geoff Yantz for the raffle prizes today.

See you next week!!!!!!!!
